Pitrisconi and Monte Nieddu
Trekking, Pitrisconi Canyoning and 4WD tours including natural pools and impressive waterfalls: this is Monte Nieddu! The imposing granite massif is bordered by the municipalities of Padru and San Teodoro and it is precisely from these that can be reached.
Both roads that allow you to discover Monte Nieddu are dirt roads, with narrow and steep hairpin bends not in excellent condition. We therefore recommend using a high machine or a 4WD. You can visit the 'map' section to view the access roads on google maps.
Environment
Once you reach the heart of Monte Nieddu we will immediately be struck by the mountain environment, so close to the sea but so different from the coastal area! Punta Majore (970 meters) dominates the southern part of the massif, while Punta Casteddacciu (828 meters) rises to the north. Both tips can be reached by trekking.
Punta Pala di Monti is the ideal panoramic point which can also be reached by 4WD tours. From here you can enjoy a wonderful 360 degree view of the entire coastal area and the same massif. This is a fundamental step of the 4x4 tour that we offer.
The other pearl that hides Monte Nieddu is definitely the Pitrisconi river. This Rio was born on the side of Padru and flows along the whole side of San Teodoro. Along its course you can find beautiful natural pools and some waterfalls reached by trekking, others only enjoyable in canyoning.
